> Turn on “Link to each slide” and every slide gets its own address: name it, share a link that opens the slider on that slide, or jump to a slide from a button. Free.

With hash navigation every slide gets its own address, such as `/tours/#beach`. Share that link and the page opens with the slider on that slide. Links on the same page can jump to a slide too.

### Turn it on

Select the slider and open the **Advanced** panel at the bottom of its settings. Turn on ** Link to each slide**; it is off by default. From now on the address bar changes while the slides change: `#slide-1`, `#slide-2` and so on.

### Name the addresses

Numbers work, but names are easier to share and survive reordering the slides. Both are in the free plugin:

- **Link prefix**, in the slider’s Advanced panel, replaces `slide`: with the prefix `tour` the addresses become `#tour-1`, `#tour-2`.
- **Slide link name**, in a slide’s Advanced panel, gives that slide its own address, for example `beach` or `flamingo`. Slides without a name stay numbered.

### Jump to a slide from a link

Any link to the address works: a button with the URL `#beach`, a menu item, a link in another post (`/tours/#beach`). Try it on the [examples page](https://gutenslider.org/examples/#carousel).

### Tips

- Use it on one slider per page; two sliders would compete for the address bar.
- Hash names must be unique on the page and should not clash with heading anchors.
