Every slider has one of two content modes, set under Content in its settings. It decides where the blocks you add go: onto each slide, or above all of them.
Per slide
The default. Every slide is its own container: a different headline on each photo, a product per slide, a quote per slide. Slides can also have no blocks at all, for a plain photo slideshow.
Place the content with the content position matrix in the toolbar (top, center or bottom; left, center or right). On a slide it places that slide’s content; on the slider it sets the position for all slides at once.
Same on all
One set of blocks sits above the slides and stays still while the backgrounds change: a site headline over a photo series, a call to action over a video loop. In the editor the fixed blocks are the slider’s own inner blocks, after the slides.
Fixed content works well with the fade effect: only the background changes, so the eye stays on the text.
Text next to an image
For a slide with the photo on one side and text on the other, give the slide a color background and add a Columns block with an image in one column and text in the other. On phones the columns stack.
